Have you ever met a narcissistic cannibal?

Moar stuffs from Korn and Skrillex (and some third party, Kill the Noise, whoever that is).
I do enjoy this overproduced shit MUSICALLY very much, but I'd also like to complain, just a little, about something.

IT'S THE FUCKING LYRICS. It almost seems as though Jon Davis is regressing as a lyric writer, when he should be progressing and developing. Ok, Korn's lyrical style has always revolved around mental issues, childhood trauma, relationships and normal self-centered shit like that, which is fine to a certain point. But there comes a time when dealing with these same issues doesn't bring anything new to the table anymore. I think the time comes after singing about this same shit for almost 20 years. It becomes boring. And annoying.

I really hoped Jon would've adopted the style he tried on songs like Evolution and Innocent Bystander just a few years ago, where he actually came up with some smart societal insights, but no. Now we're again back in this "Nothing's good about the hell you put me through" bullshit.

Good thing is that the words as phonetic units fit into the music and it sounds good, as long as you don't pay attention to what the words actually stand for...
If the lyrics in these newer Korn songs were about something not-so-egocentric, I'm sure even epicness could be achieved.

What it comes down to is that this teenage shit just doesn't fit into a 20-year-old band consisting of 40-something dudes. Just listen to this chorus on Narcissistic Cannibal:

"Sometimes I hate the life I've made
Everything is wrong every time
Pushing on I can't escape
Everything that comes my way
Is haunting me, taking it's sweet time
Holding on I'm lost in a haze
Fighting life till the end of my days"

Boo-fucking-hoo. You sound like a 14-year-old attention whore. Jon, I love you, but please, grow up already.
